The Downtown Line (blue, code DT) is a long, fully underground line running from Bukit Panjang in the north-west, through the city centre, out to Expo in the east. It reaches neighbourhoods that the older lines missed.
The Downtown Line adds direct city access for the north-west and east, with interchanges at Newton, Little India, Bugis, Promenade, Chinatown and MacPherson, and a meeting with the East-West Line at Expo and Tampines.
