Nearest MRT station

Then: a direct exit into the heritage streets.

Chinatown has its own station shared by the North-East and Downtown lines, and the exits open right onto the heritage district. You step off the train and into the street market without a long walk.

Getting there by MRT

  1. Ride the North-East line or the Downtown line to Chinatown station.
  2. Take the exit toward Pagoda Street for the street market and temples.
  3. The shophouses, food streets and the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple are all within a short stroll.

Tips for the trip

  • The interchange means Chinatown connects easily from both the purple and blue lines.
  • It pairs well with Clarke Quay, which is one stop away on the North-East line.
